Quick question - how to best tighten the front strut nut on Koni SA's

Is an impact a bad idea for this purpose?

It looks like even if I had a nice open ended box wrench that reached into the (OE) upper strut bushing, there is nothing to hold onto since that upper tang is used to adjust the rebound.

Any tips? I don't want to use vice grips on the shaft for fear of causing damage. But maybe if I can grab the spot where the bump stop will be riding it will be ok?

Right above the threads and right under the adjuster thing should be a hex area. I was able to use a box end on the top of my konis

I wouldn't use an impact to install them, it's not needed

So a box end and a small deep socket should do the trick, thanks! Luckily advance auto parts is open late. I think Koni actually has a lined-out image of an impact in their sketch-up instructions as a "do not use this."

Yeah, or 2 box ends. I have some racheting ones I use for damn near everything.

I think I remember just installing them with the nut loose, then the letting the car down and tightening them up then?
