Who has experience with both and which one would work better for track days, auto-x and street use? They would be used with bilstein sport shocks. Coilovers are too much, and I would like to get the lowered look as well. The majority vote will decide my purchase.

so H&R race is linear ?
the rate on a progressive spring is the end rate or medium rate or initial rate...?
i have hr race+ biltein sports on my m3 e30 and i had to shorten the bump stops a bit as it was getting to the end of travel on front... and i put a thicker pad on the rear...
i also have ie camber and toe kit on the rear...
i heard adjustable konis were better for this set up , but never used themE30 M3 us spec 88 lachsilver, 2.5 motec

Rate is the amount of force required to compress a spring 1". So even with a progressive rate spring, you still will have just one number. That number is a bit useless however due to the fact the rate changes. Directly comparing spring rates of two progressive springs will tell you nothing.Comment

Could be wrong, but it's my understanding that progressive springs are supposed to be more 'streetable' than linear springs. I've got H&R race with billies on my car, handles pretty good. The ride is a bit stiff, but if it's not your every day car it's doable.Comment

Well I'm a 17 year old kid I think the bumpiness and stiffness can be tolerated for a while. I think I'm going to go I.E mostly because I'm seeing the majority has H&R setup so I would like to see how it compares. Especially since me and a buddy have almost exact same cars and he has H&R setup. Plus I would like to go ground control coilovers for the track and aesthetic look of being low but I'm too poor for that, that being said the I.E springs go lower and they are from a reputable dealer that I have seemed to like their products so far :)1991 325i Calypso Coupe

I do. Not great for driving around the city or anywhere with bumps. Thinking about swapping for h&r race. Though for my dd vogtland are a good option! Definitely not as sporty as the others, but decent drop and comfy.Comment
