    DD Suspension Setup

The dirty thirty is at the perfect height right now. Tucson roads do not agree.

Eibachs and Bilsteins up front, IE and KYBs in back.

What is an ideal DD setup? I'd say my M42 oil pan is about 2.5 - 3 inches off the ground as she sits now. I want about a half inch more clearance.

I've checked numerous times, and I can't see the ride height from the driver's seat. So my preference for a daily driver is the OE springs and Koni SA shocks.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Eibach springs are low and soft. Car must ride/handle strangely with Eibach front and IE3 rear...

I think H&R Sport and Bilstein Sport is a great daily setup! Or E30 M3 springs and Bilstein HD.

I concur in the e30 m3 springs and bills.. ran those for a while gets you an overall improved feel and slightly lower.

Throw some thicker spring pads in, or run some slightly larger diameter wheel/tires.

H&R Sport should sit a little higher than the IE3s do, no idea about the eibachs.

Using Vogtlands on my DD. No complaints here, ride quality is similar to OE and sits at just about the perfect height. Toss some thicker spring pads in your front and you should be set though.

If you really want to protect the oil pan, get a skid plate. Even at stock height that m42 oil pan seems to find ways to get hit.

I'm pretty sure PO said there are no pads up front, maybe that alone will be enough.

Is there any easy way to just install new spring pads?

Pads will help. There are thin and thick versions as well. I know the M3 came with tall pads so you could look those up in RealOEM. The correct way to install the pads would be removing the springs but if you cut the pad in half you could just jack the car up and put it in there without taking anything apart.

Hey, I'm in Tucson, Arizona also, and I have removed the stock springs from my e30 M3. They're yours for a small amount if you want to install them...
