    too soft dampers... help!?

Hi, I've been searching around for a time now and now have a headache looking a every post out there.. It seems can't find the information I need to complete my suspension set-up!!

The problem is that I bought a set of springs from Ground Control with a high spring rate wich is 600 front and 800 rear. BUT!! I only have Bilstein Sports shocks all around and now the car is bouncing on the road to every little bumps I hit... I tought that my springs would make my car stiff, not that it would kill my dampers and make my car act like a rabbit..

What would you do? Revalving my Bilstein Sports to my spring rate? Buying Koni Yellow SA?

    thank you for your advices!!

PS : my english is not that good sorry

You need a revalve. The rates are way too high for the BS, and will be too high for Koni Yellow's. Sorry bud.

i've been/owned cars with both. there is a reason GC sells konis with their coiliovers. konis are 100x better always. i hate the rebound on the billies and the liner dampening.
      Much wow
      I hate 4 doors

If I understand the best way to go is to revalve my bilstein sports OR buy some Koni Yellow.. Are the Konis enough strong to handle that spring rate?

PS : my strut housing is not shorten

Just about any shock can be re-valved. Your best solution would be to contact GC and have them set up a set of shocks valved for those springs.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

little update. I've contact Essex a distributor for Bilstein and they told me that they have a shop in Poway, CA wich can re-valve and shorten my shocks! Kind of happy I won't need to replace all the dampers but I have to contact this shop by tel to see what would be the charge. Can't wait to have them done and see what that beauty got for real on the track!!
              Thanks for your help

Gonna try to get you all update

even with the dampers matched, it's still going to bounce over bumps a lot because the springs are so stiff they don't soak up the smaller bumps on the road you would barely notice before with softer suspension.
Just a little project im working on

You may want to consider going with a softer spring rate if you don't track the car (doesn't sound like you do, if you're worried about ride quality).

Maybe something in the range of 450f/600r would be better. That's what I'm using with 325ix Koni S/A's in shortened housings, and I'm very happy with the ride quality, it's slightly stiffer then the H&R Race / Bilstein Sport combo.

It will be much cheaper then revalving shocks as well.

oups forgot to mention that the car will see track several time in the summer!

                    @Madhatter
Secondo, when I said that the car was bouncing around.. it is litterally bouncing and I feel like riding only springs at front :( looks like my dampers and definitely gone to a better world..

If I was looking for ''ride quality'' I wouldn't have choose an E30 haha I love how those little thing works on the road and I don't mind it to be harsh on my back :)
