so i was replacing my p/s belt last night and cant put any tension on the belt with the bracket either teeth are not grabbing or i am retarded. any kind of fix till i can get a hold of another one.

Well the big bolt (19 or 21mm i think) is what you turn to adjust the tension. There's a 13mm nut on the back that holds it in place. If the nut is too tight you won't be able to adjust the tension because it won't move. If it's too loose, when you tighten it it'll just slide back. Exactly what he said above. I used and open wrench on one side and a ratchet with a socket on the other.

The teeth are probably stripped put tension on the bracket with a pry bar with the bolt partially removed toget past the stripped portion then begin to use the bolt to add the remaining tension.
I had to do it that way before I replaced the adjuster bracket
