    PS delete with leaking rack?

I've read confilciting reports on deleting PS with a leaking rack. Some say the rack HAS to be leak free while others say they are internally lubricated.

If my rack is leaking and I want to run without PS, can I do so with a block off plate from Condor with no ill effects? At the moment I don't have the time to install a leak free or refurbished rack so I just cut the belt.

Also, for those that have installed a Condor block off plate, did you notice a difference if you tried a PS delete wihtout the plate and then with?

The point of the block off plate is to allow power steering fluid to continue to pass through the rack. If it pisses all of the fluid out through the tie rod seals you're going to have a useless rack.

No point really - don't waste your money, save that $40 or whatever and put that towards a z3/e36 rack swap. Technically the rack is supposed to stay lubricated... but if it takes you a little while to do the swap you'll probably be fine.

If all your fluid has leaked out + belt is cut then it's doing the same thing as a delete plate just quite a lot more parts there.

If a manual rack is desired why not just buy one?

All Z4 non-m cars have a manual rack; their power assist is electrical in the steering column.

Z4 rack fits directly in place of e30 rack same like a e36 rack does.
