    Weird Noise/Vibration w/ Z3 Rack

I have an odd noise coming from my Z3 rack.

I previously swapped to the 1.9L Z3 rack with no problems. After my wife hit a rock that destroyed that rack, I replaced it with the same 1.9L Z3 rack, but now I have a weird noise when I steer. There is a vibration that can be felt through the steering wheel.

    Any ideas?

that noise is the rubber boot rubbing on the shaft. the z3 rack has a farther in angle than stock and rubs. dont worry about it. or you can move the shaft plate a little at the firewall.
    Much wow

Had the same exact noise on mine after swapping in the e36 rack. I did the fire wall mod but the problem was just the rubber boot making noise. The solution was to take a bit of grease on the tip of your finger and from the inside of the car rub it on the inside of the boot where the shaft contacts it, no noise for almost 2 years now.
