i had a shop do an alignmen and they said i needed new tie rods so i had them replace them. I have an e36 steering rack. The tie rods come all the way out and touch the metal behind the rotors. and even though it was aligned it still pulls left. This doesn't seem right to me. Any opinions?

If they happen to have installed e36 tie rods, they have an S shape so are side specific. Otherwise I like the bent backing plate theory.Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

I had a shop doing it cause I don't have an alignment machine and since it was there and they wouldn't align it without replacing the tie rods I just had them do it. I am very capable of maintaining my car. I'll take a picture of it. The dust cover isn't bent and the tie rod is just right up on it
