    tie rod question

i had a shop do an alignmen and they said i needed new tie rods so i had them replace them. I have an e36 steering rack. The tie rods come all the way out and touch the metal behind the rotors. and even though it was aligned it still pulls left. This doesn't seem right to me. Any opinions?

Shouldn't be pulling nor should the tie rods be touching anything. Got pics?

Check the rear end parts as well. Any suspension mods?

Does in hit the rotor or the metal dust cover because maybe you just need to bend it back and your good

If they happen to have installed e36 tie rods, they have an S shape so are side specific. Otherwise I like the bent backing plate theory.

I hate to come off as rude, but it's your car that is modded differently so you kind of have to know what the heck is up with it! And if you're having a shop do that piddly work, maybe you should find a different car or skip the mods.

I had a shop doing it cause I don't have an alignment machine and since it was there and they wouldn't align it without replacing the tie rods I just had them do it. I am very capable of maintaining my car. I'll take a picture of it. The dust cover isn't bent and the tie rod is just right up on it
