    z3 rack doesn't have locking tab cutouts?

    I'm in the middle of swapping a z3 track and I go to put the tie rods on and notice there no notch in the rack ends to accept the tie rod locking tab:

    Is this typical? I don't remember coming across this in any of the swap threads

    Yes, z3 racks are like that. Loctite them in.

        Loctite isn't permanent. A little heat and muscle and it will come undone.

            Use red loctite and make sure you crank those tie rods down fucking tight. You'll be fine.

              Before you torque the hell out of it make sure you get a grip on the opposite end of the rack itself so you are not twisting against the housing. Otherwise you are very likely to damage your pinion gear or bearings.
