Installing ground control camber plates

so I'm try to install the touring camber plates on my car but the camber plate gets stuck on the top washer on the strut and it wont allow slide further down on the strut so i can put the koni provided washer and nut on to secure the strut to the camber plate. Now I shall explain with pics..

first washer from the top is the problem.

I'm not positive, but that looks correct. When you lower the car back down on the ground, the strut will compress until the spring seats fully.

Edit: Just noticed that with the washer you don't have enough threads sticking up. I would say that as long as the hole in the camber plate is the same size as the shaft and not overly loose fitting, the washer is not needed.

I would also get nylock nuts so you don't have to run a lock washer on top.

Alright, Me and my dad were thinking that maybe the washer is used if you use a stock strut mount. cause that problem washer came with the conversion kit and the conversion kit is presumably made for people to use without plates. also i notice if I were to run without washers just the nut it threads fine just cant use washers

Without the washer you gain 3 threads which is way more than the thickness of the washer so the bottom of the camber plate appears to be designed so that the shock shaft goes up inside it to seat.

underside of plate the flat gold part rest flat flush on the washer. if i take it off it goes further up in that cone shaped are and rest.

I would ask GC. I doubt the square edge of the shock shaft is designed to dig into the conical taper of the camber plate. I think something is missing.

What if I install the whole assembly on the car and see if the eh eight from dropping the car presses it and levels it in place? Idk just throwing a idea out. Been waiting to install my coilovers for months!!

people with the regular street /scca plate that i know removed the top washer and ran them without and have ad no problems. thinking the top washer is for the stock mounts

Interesting. My race plates don't have that conical shape on the bottom. And my koni 1547's look different. I also didn't realize how thick the touring plates actually are...

i have GC touring plates in my hands. the bottom is counterbored (not conical) and the koni top adjustable sits inside perfect then a washer on top. no washer at the bottom it sits on the shoulder of the shock shaft.

So what your saying is they sent me the wrong the plates? can I get some pictures of yours?

After looking closer they sent me the wrong plate FML Look at the pick of it flipped upside down on there site and then look at mine flipped. completely different

Definitely this. Either that part is machined wrong or you have the wrong plates or there is some kind of conical adapter, though I'm not sure why they would do it that way.
