    Threaded ring for shock inserts

I'm switchin to Bilstein shocks for the Turner J-stock springs onto my '91 325i. I finally got the old ring around the shock loose and find out that the non-m shocks are a lot smaller than the ///M ones are evidently. The ring on the old Bilsteins wont fit over the new ones to put the new shock in the strut tube. Is the ring needed specific to the stock shocks? Or does the stock ring work with the new shocks as well? Part number 3 in the pic (31321117376)

Just so everyone knows, the m3 and the 325i use the same collar. Same part number, same price. I dont think that you can use the stock ones. I just ordered 2 new collars for my shocks from Turner Motorsport.

The fact that both you and I are ordering new gland nuts from Turner, for J stocks, on red 325is's with body damage is frightening.

Are they for the shocks that go with the J-stock springs? I NEED mine by this Thursday and they are sending mine with faster shipping so I will just keep mine. Charlie can have em if he wants ;)

You've got the zip tied fender mod to make up for it though.

It's ok, I think my passengers side fender is turning into a candidate for the zip tie mod. Give it a year or two...
