    Choosing shocks for stock springs

I realize there are tons of posts on the differences between Koni and Bilstien shocks and other brands. However, I am wanting to use stock springs and to retain as much of the original feel as possible. So, here are my questions:

    1. Using the stock springs, is there a noticeable difference between the Koni shocks and the oem shocks? Is the ride affected or is there just better damping and better control provided by the Koni shocks?

    2. Would the Koni shocks be a good choice for the stock springs?

    3. Besides buying the oem shocks from a place like getbmwparts.com which are expensive, which shocks would be the most like the oem shocks? Sachs?

Shocks are valved for certain springrates. Go with some kgb gas adjusts, should cost lest than $200 total for the entire car, and it will ride as good as new.

Sachs/Boge turbo low pressure gas or equivalent. Bilstein HD if you want a stiffer shock with lifetime warranty (IIRC).
