I only want to swap out my springs do I have to take the whole strut assembly out or can I just unbolt the top, swing it out, compress the spring and pull it out? Or do I have to go through this whole procedure on pelican?

The longest part is compressing the springs, and probably more hassle doing it on the car rather than on a work bench. Not to mention, you may not even be able to clear the fenders to pull the springs off with spring compressors attached to them.'84 318i M10B18 147- Safari Beige
