Do I need new front springs?

The spring doesn't sit on the metal, is this dangerous and in need of replacing? Is the rust bad enough to replace them anyways?

Looks like mostly surface rust, I doubt it's going to break. But if you have lowering springs (cut springs?), that's normal. When my car is in the air, my spring will unseat itself at either the top or bottom.

Your spring pad is fucked though, and I'm wondering exactly how long it's been since your shocks have been done. I would kind of expect them to be shot by now.

But based on that pic, I'm guessing no one has touched any part of your suspension in ages, and probably every part of it needs to be refurbished or replaced, bushings especially.

The spring pad is that cracked rubber at the bottom of the spring? Is it a whole assembly? Thanks rturbo 930 you are a real help man!

On the topic of suspension, this is the tower of the passenger side, it seems sketchy to me. What does it look like to you guys?

          Thanks!

Yeah that's it. New ones are ~$5 each.

I'm not seeing anything obviously wrong with your strut tower, but there's supposed to be a plastic cap there. It does look like the rubber is cracked a little bit toward the center, but I'm not sure if that's wear or not. When I got my car, my strut tops had what looked like a bunch of cracks in the rubber, which I assumed meant they were worn out, but after ~10k miles, my new ones look the same. But based on what the rest of your suspension looks like, they might just be worn the fuck out.

The struts are? Is that the metal rod in between the spring?
