Eibach Pro Kit or H & R Sports?

What are they benefits or draw backs? I am planning on either Billie Sports, or Konis too. Any input?

I have one setup in my '88 but I dont know how it compares so I dont want to just replicate it in my '89.

It really depends on what you want - if you have the money, I say go Koni's - since they're adjustable.

I'd steer clear of the Eibachs...cause I guess they sag over time - or is that just a continuous rumor?

    I'm goin for H&R Sports w/ Koni's!

      ProKit vs H&R sport

It all depends what you are looking for.

If you want your car to be lower, and still handle like stock, get the Eibach Pro Kit. The spring rates are barely higher than stock. The e30 m3 springs are even stiffer than the Pro Kit.

If you want your car to be lower, and have stiffer springs, get the H&R Sports. They give about 1.3" of drop and stiffens the suspension up a bit. Stiff enough for spirited driving, and still fine on the street.

as for the shocks... both are good. The Koni's are adjustible. Bilsteins have a lifetime guarentee.

(I am running H&R sports with Bilstein shocks)

They probably are lower, but still almost as soft as stock.
          bye bye oilpan...

I have a set of each and it seems the H&Rs aren't as thick of a coil, and they have rust marks where they hit and compressed. The Eibachs are new though so...

            Have you had both?

I'd stay away from the pro-kit, it's way too low to have such soft spring rates. H&R sports with Konis, or IE Stg 3's with Konis. IE Stg 3's are pro-kit height, but are much stiffer, but are actually more comfortable because you stay off the bump stops.

                Keep it slideways!!

I have heard and compared my H&R sports w/koni adj. to eibachs and billstiens to a 89' e30M50. I have driven both cars.

The Eibachs make the car sit lower, are softer and less aggressive.

I am very happy with my H&R setup with Koni Adjs. The ride is not harsh, no bouncing.
-Minimal body roll with stock sways.
-The fronts are very easy to adj.
However the rears require removal of the wheel and shock to adj.
That is if you run the plastic cover/boot over the shock piston. A PITA to adjust.

-If you are going for comfort and looks go with eibach
-If you want comfort and performance go with H&R
-If you plan on tracking your vehicle aggressively go with a different setup.

Thanks guys. One concern I had was this supposed sgging of Eibach springs? Anyone with actual issues with this or is it just a rumor?

-Also consider the lower you go the worse the rear camber will be. It can be very bad on E30's causing accelerated rear tire wear on the insides of the rear tires.

I dont know about the sagging rumor. Can not confirm.

It might not be that it sags, but rather, that it's just low and doesn't increase spring rates. Due to the non-increasing spring rates, this will cause a lowered car to bottom out more often - which is not good.

I personally think they are worthless - bottoming out does you no good at all.

                          H&R's or IE3's I think.

someone correct me if I'm spouting BS, but I'm pretty sure the IE stg 3's are made by eibach to ireland's specs. Eibach will tell you they're the only ones in the world with the super spring making machine.
