Steering linkage modify/clean

Hey all,

Modifying my linkage for an e46 rack swap. Anybody who has done this previously, what did you do to clean it up before you put it back in? I've seen some people who basically made it look brand new before it went in, idk if they bought an entire new linkage or if they're just that thorough. i was going to use a wire brush/dremel, but i'm kind of wary of damaging the u joint sections?




Also, anybody have the IE guibo installed? any review of it?

I use a wire wheel on the exposed areas and engine degreaser w a small brush around the joints. Finish up w brake cleaner and call it a day

That bushing looks a bit thicker that's the stock unit so you will need to get the upper link very c,one to the firewall to avoid binding. Make sure you grind the corners of the joints enough to avoid binding.
