I've been running Koni Sports from a GC kit for two years now, and I have to part with them because I'm selling the car they came from.
As replacements, I'm looking at the single adjustable Koni 8610-1437 Race for the front. These are slightly shorter than iX inserts, but with higher valving.
When I get to the rears, I'm lost. I want something that will perform similar to the fronts, but I can't figure out what that is. I figured I'd just run M3 rear koni sports or something, but they (and apparently all E30 application konis) are compress to adjust.
The "E30 Shock Option" thread lists "94-04 Mustang Exc. IRC" (8041-1186-Sport) as a rear option, and supposedly TCK uses this shock for their kits unmodified(although their site says the part number is 8041-1186TCK?), but recommends a 500 lb/in spring rate.
Current spring rates are 450/650, car is used for autoX and casual drives around.
wat do r3v?

Emailed and heard back from a Koni rep this morning, figured I'd update this thread with the following info:

The 8041-1026 Sport is shorter by 5mm in compressed length position, however it does not use a bump stop.
The 8041-1186 Sport does have a bump stop installed from the factory which makes contact with the shock body 50mm before full compression is reached.
The dampers are valved exactly the same.
