    E30 M3 Sway bar mounts?

I was recently thinking about this and Im wondering if they really are an improvement, and if so, how?

Reason why I think they really are nothing more than a "M3 spec part" is because the M3 had aluminum control arms that they couldnt or wouldnt put a hole into them for the sway bar mount, then they figured out where they could mount then after the fact, on the strut tube.

I dont see the benefit of moving them from the control arm to the strut tube, all of the parts are moving together, so...????

    EXPLAIN!

Simple. Say the wheel moves up an inch. The strut tube will also move up and inch...but the middle of the control arm will only move up (let's say) 1/2".

More movement results in more work done by the sway bar and the more effect it will have.

Think of the door to your house. Open it 4-5". Now....What moves farther? The center of the door? Or the Door handle?

They also pre-load the bar somewhat as the steering wheel is being turned which makes the bar come in to play sooner.

Not all m3's had aluminum control arms. It's year specific.
