whenever the car is raised the front springs get unseated. is this true for all those running j stock suspension? You need to make sure the springs are seated properly when lowering the car.

before lowering the car back down, they are fine after you put
load back on them, normal for short springs.

My IE3's look the same in the rear. I hear that they are designed to work this way...with the ends (top and bottom) of the spring compressing into the "barrel", giving it limited travel.
Although it seems to work, I am unimpressed by the design. In my world, coil bind can never be a good thing.
IE3's *were* the only spring that I have seen bind up like that. I guess J-stocks (and possibly H&R race) also bind.

this is the response I got from Turner and they are normal.
100% normal, George.
These are called "Dead Coils" and are there only to take up space so the springs do not come out when the suspension is unloaded.
From H&R's website (www.hrsprings.com):
Dead or Inactive Coils: Coils, which are in contact with adjacent coils at loaded height. Inactive coils do nothing but give the spring enough free length to stay tight in the spring perches at full rebound.
