    Steering knuckle question. Help !

I've got my new rack in place but I haven't bolted it down yet because I'm having trouble sliding my steering knuckle up to where it needs to rest on the steering spline ( shaft ) .

I'm about 1 centimeter away from getting it to the right spot , but I can't get it to come up anymore .

    Suggestions ? Help ?

As you can tell in the pic , the knuckle needs to slide up to where the spline has that flat spot .

I drive a slotted screw driver in the split to open the knuckle a bit. However That steering column spline should not have that groove on so it looks like who ever did the hack may have buggered up the threads.

It's only the rack end of the knuckle that's an interference fit
