    My Car is Too Low

I am using a Bilstein strut/spring combo but my car is too low for my taste. I eventually want to get some coil overs but for now lowering springs will do. My question is if I install some lowering springs that are made for a convertible will this give me less of a drop or will the drop be the same or lower? My tire is under the wheel well and I don't like the way it sits. Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance guys.

if you want a model drop,

you will probably be happy with e30 M3 springs, and decent shocks.

or stock shocks, and HR sport springs.

    Please leave feedback below, thanks

HR vert sport springs will sit just about 1/2" taller than HR coupe sport springs. i dont know what billy springs are like, but stock vert springs are almost 3/4" taller than coupe springs.
      Much wow

I know that the vert springs are a bit taller and denser and will not drop your car too low. Attached is a picture of how my car sits, I dont necessarily like it that low. So in your recommendation what springs should I look for? Sorry but I'm very ignorant to this type of things. I've owned 6 stock e30's and this is the first I actually lower. I'm really not comfortable with the stance. Thanks

Do you have the rubber spring pads in place? They could get you up a bit, maybe a half inch if you don't have any in.

How much higher do you need? Your car looks seriously good there, not too low not too high either, to my eyes anyway.

You also might talk to Ground Control about their coilover kit, and run it with the adjusters spun up higher, I'm sure they could get you some taller/longer springs if needed, as they are an eibach dealer.

^^I do think the car looks good there as well but functionality I would like to have it 1/2 in higher. The ride is super smooth as the struts are brand new (3 months and about 2k miles) front and rear but I dont like the slanted look. I like for it to be a tad higher in the front. I'm running 205/50 R15 on 7x15 German made ARC Alurad AVO-70 with a +25 and the tires hit my fenders and bent them out a bit. I tried running 195/50 R15 but there is too much of a gap. I just want to lift it no more that 3/4 inches so that the tires clear, I'm wanting to but some style 5's but with the car this low It'll be impossible. As for the pads, I'll replace them soon because I'm swapping out the strut bearings so I can do the pad to see if it makes a difference.

            Thanks for the advice.

It's a safe bet that standard H&R Sports or vert sports will get you nearer to your goals. It might also be reasonable to get drop hats in the front if you want to keep the gap a bit more even.

There are also pads of different thicknesses which might give you even more adjustability.

                1. E30 M3 springs are your answer. Here's my early model with them:

                2. Your car probably isn't higher in the front, the lower rear fenders make it look that way. Measure from a flat surface to the bottom of the rocker as a general guide.

my sig pic is h&r cabbie springs on the front and h&r e36 springs on the rear. of course the car is a vert...

two things i see when i look at your car. first, your wheel/tire combination is really really small. they look like 14s. getting something of a larger diameter will help you. my car has 17's but i suggest 16's. that is in my opinion the perfect rim diameter for an e30.

second, the front looks a good deal lower than the back. i would endeavor to raise the front an inch or perhaps more than whatever you do to the back...

find some level pavement and measure from the ground to the rocker panel behind the front wheel and in front of the rear wheel to see what you have. as mentioned above, don't pay any attention to the wheel lips. the rear is designed to sit lower than the front.

See thats more the hight I'm looking for. This looks spot on and I assume the ride is smooth and not bouncy. I like...

Not into the "Stance" and I am obviously not a "Kid". Let them worry about how low can you go but I'm looking for a more functional solution to my problem. Thanks for the poke... One day I hope to poke you back.
