Can you install coilovers with drum brakes?

Hey Guys
new to the forum, and obviously new to the e30 world
I just got a 1984 325e
It's got drum brakes all around

my question is, do i need to get these swapped to disc brakes before I install coil overs, or will the fact it is drums brakes not affect the installation process? so far i can only find videos on how to install with disc brakes but nothing on drum brakes


also, if I am looking to lower my car, for relatively cheap, what set up would you recommend? Looking for easy install I am really a beginner so no welding or anything.

Drums all round you say? i don't believe you.

even the 84 e was discs all the way around. only the early 318 had discs in front and drums in the back
