Slop in steering

Ever since I had my 91' I thought there was too much slop in the steering wheel but I had nothing to compare it to. All of my steering and suspension components are brand new except for the rack. I don't know, perhaps the steering is just so light that it feels sloppy. I always thought BMWs had tight steering.



I found this article and checked my car but I don't have that coupler.

How much slop should there be?

Is it slop or does it just feel loose? My 91 has a loose feeling despite everything being tight and having all new front end parts. My next replacement will be the wheel bearings.

stock E30 steering racks are really light (and slow). The solution is to upgrade to a better rack.
