I have been running the eibach kit 20/16 adj. rear. Along with the eibach springs and bilstein sports.

overall a good upgrade, keeps everything comfy, yet brings some nice performance improvements.

I wanted to keep everything somewhat soft for winter conditions.

If a car works better without rear bars it is experiencing the same problem that softening the rear bar would solve. Too much rear roll resistance. Since there is no rear bar that only leaves too much rear spring.
Is the E30 rear suspension that unusual. It might explain why there's still a greater degree of body roll than you would expect after installing such stiff springs.

The problem with a stiff rear bar, is a little different than stiff springs. With a stiff sway bar, it turns the IRS into more of a solid type axle (not quite, but one can get the idea.) A stiffer spring in the rear can make up for roll, allowing full use of IRS.

Take a look around at the fast E30s...there is always a fine line to walk. And yes, I am running somewhat high rear rates (in comparison to the front) with no rear bar.

For running full coilovers, your spring rates are insane. What are your wheel rates, like 900lb/in?

The e30 needs all the rear grip it can get, and sway bars cost grip.

I 2nd the fact that you shouldn't try this with a cartridge in the housing, as the other guy said - rags maybe. I just emptied mine and went at 'em with a welder and some scrap 1/8" flat stock to re-enforce my mounts. I actually went a little hot and distorted the area minorly, just to make sure I hade full penetration. I didn't have any problem getting a oiled up Bilstein past the spot.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

So what i can gather is thicker front sway bar good, thick sway bar in back bad.

And anyone know what the springs rates are for B+G, they seem kinda soft in the back.

Yes Trent, I was talking to you... were you joking about 1000lb+ spring rates in the rear in that other thread?

If your springs are soft in back, you need a larger rear sway bar than if they're stiff.
