i want to do suspension on my '86 325e but my budget is pretty tight... less than 600, maybe 800. Im thinking about tokico blues... has anybody on here ever run them? any recommendations? warnings? would it be better to just look for some used bilstein sports and maybe some H and R springs?

I did IE Stage 3 springs and used Bilstein Sports for under $800... could have even been under $600.

That would be my suggestion.

get the tokico hp suspension kit from ebay for low $300 or what he said ^^

i have them and it's been little over a year, can't complaint at all specially with that price.

I just got some blues, put them on because I have little money right now and they were dirt cheap. Overall they are pretty good for the price, If your tight on money they will make a big difference compared to Boge turbos or blown shocks. Not bilsteins but a good value.

Definately agree with you here. Bilstein Sports matched with H&R Sport springs are definately a cost-effective match. Shop around and you can do this set up for about $600. And while you're diving into this task, get some replacement rear shock mounts - nothing fancy if you don't plan to track your car. Some factory E36 bits would be a cheap upgrade. Then later on when your budget allows, maybe throw on some sway bars.

As for Tokico Blues, a very cheap shock that's good for daily driving usage. A friend put a set of these on a 325is and during his second track event he blew one of the rear shocks. Read: not cool.

cosmo's with tokico shocks and struts is what i am suggesting 185$ for cosmo coil overs and tokico shocks and struts are that expensive i think with shipping i calculated like 375 or something maybe less
