    stiff ride but bouncy

Hi sorry for this question.. new to BMw's, the suspension in my 89is is deffently aftermarket lowered and stiff but not super stiff ride and drives really nice.. does not bounce at all when driving

but when i go and push on the hood or trunk of the car the suspension doesnt stiffen up at all just bounces.. unlike when i do that to my accord it stiffens right up after a few bumps.

Ive never delt with aftermarket suspension but im taking that my struts are done in my 89?

    thanks.

springs should be good if the suspension is aftermarket. springs also don't crack unless you try to crack them and even then it would be VERY difficult.

Springs generally don't crack unless your car can from areas where they salt. I've seen springs bust due to serious rust, but generally the car also has some rust issues not just springs.

living in Ontario Canada surprisingly there isnt really any rust at all on my car. and this has to be salt capital of the world.. they spread that stuff out thick even in teh middle of the spring for some damn reason..
