    H & R Springs ???

Im thinking of getting H&R Sport Springs with a 1.3" drop. With a 1990 325is on 14" Stock Basketweaves, will this drop be too low? oh yea, what about the front is lip valance. Will i be scraping all over the place? Im in SoCal and the roads aren't that great. Does anyone have any first hand experience? I also heard about the H&R Cup kit springs...

H&R sport & Bilstein will perfect for you w/ "is" lip. nothing to worry about scraping. H&R cup kit is kind of soft.

If you are worried about ground clearance, you want the h&r sport (or h&r race, or ie3 springs - similar drop but stiffer). Definitely not the cup kit. It is the lowest by far, and also the softest.

I have a H&R cup kit and I love it. Soft enought to drive daily and stiff enough ( with really big sway bars ) to race. Here is pic of how it sits

race springs sit as low as the cup kit but a stiffer ride. the cup kit gets put down cause the springs are so soft you almost bottom out the shock. bilstein sports with h&r sports will sit the car nice. if you need to go lower the race are really the way to go. the ie3s have a odd "reverse rake" look, i think it looks odd. spring rates are the same as hr race but the race seem to ride/look better. imo.

h&r race and bilstein races are not as low as the cup kit. But the race springs and bigger sway bars make the back end skip a little on a fast bumpy turn. like a hard right turn on a city street.

i ran both the H&R sport w/ bilstein and also the H&R cupkit. i hated the cupkit because it was too soft, and it had the opposite rake look to it. the back was slammed, but the front was always too high. (this may have been caused because the AC was removed completely which would have made the front a little higher than normal). The H&R sport w/ the bilsteins is a great street suspension and you should have no problem with an "iS" lip, just dont go bombing up and down driveways. my sig is H&R sport w/ bilsteins.
