Just got my Koni adjustable shocks - have questions.

    Hi guys.

I just got my Koni shocks and the rear ones are "standard adjustable" meaning they are not adjusted from top, but instead it says you need to compress the shock all the way down and twist it to adjust.

My question for those of you who has these shocks or dealt with them: how do you know that they are at stiffest or softest position as they don't have "lock-to-lock" position? In other words you can rotate them left or right as much as you want???

Also is it really just compress the shock and rotate it to adjust?

    Thanks...

Can't rotate them as much as you want, they will stop at the end of the adjustment range. I always have to go to the Koni website to check which way you have to turn them. Remember to take out that plastic washer and the rubber washer from inside the top of the shock. Otherwise you won't be able to push it down all the way.

Do you have to do this with the top adjust rears too? Cause I cant get mine to turn at all. It's pissing me off.

My front ones are nice though.

And I think you turn them counter clockwise for a firmer ride. Seems odd, but eh.

The Koni yellow rears that I have have a small button on the top of the shock body that you have to push and hold, THEN you turn them to adjust. It's been a while since I've touched mine, but I don't think you can just keep spinning them once the button has been depressed- they will stop at some point.

The top adjustables don't need to be removed to be adjusted. you simply put the adjuster knob on the top, and turn the knob. the standard internally adjustable rears have to be removed to be adjusted.

Dang, that much plus shipping for standard Koni's. I could have saved you a ton and they would have been top adjustable rears. and saved you even more for the standard rears (that I don't recommend).

Ton of money saved in your case is ~$70.
Not to offend you or anything, but I don't know you. You don't even have a web site with a store...

I am afraid to send over $500 to someone I don't know. I may be overpaid my $70, but I got my shocks from a place I used a lot and it got here in a day.

By the way I got my front koni/H&R 1.3" installed and rear springs installed as well. I will finish installing rear shocks this weekend and post some pix of before and after the lowering.

Also you don't have to completely remove rear shock to adjust it. Just undo the bottom bolt and adjust. 5 minutes job.

I think it's funny that everyone insists you need the top adjustable rears. I've had mine for 5 years, and I think I've adjusted them twice? :giggle:

Its true as most of us wont adjust them often...but since I track mainly its nice to be able to turn them down for the ride home...or play w/ them during the track day.

To all !!!!!...dont turn them to the limits either way......Koni stresses this.

that's great on a track car. I'm not going to pull out my trunk carpet just to fiddle with a silly knob. :p
