I just installed H&R springs, KYB shock, control arms, control arm bushings, and tie rod ends. When I took the car out, the bottom of the tie rod end on the driver side front was scraping against the wheel...Where did I fuck up?

When I installed my new tie rod ends(KO Performance, I got the cheaper brand) I encountered the same problem. I found out that the head was larger than the one I took off, which is why it was scraping. Luckily, I was switching out my bottlecaps to
16" slipstreams. This obviously solved the problem. -
I've seen this before with non-OE tie rod ends. There's very little clearance between the tie rod end and an OE wheel. So even a bit of dimensional difference causes a problem. Ditch the aftermarket parts and use the OE parts and you should be fine. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

You guys were absolutely right. Upon inspection in the day time and no alcohol, I can actually see quite a bit of difference in the sizes, not to mention the oem ones thread in even deeper. The tie rod was literally shaving the inside of my wheel like a potato peeler.Originally posted by StereoInstaller1Do you feel like something is trying to penetrate your butthole?Comment
