He used different bushing material - never a squeak. Since I put the new bushing in, they are silent. However - the arms themselves have NO powdercoat left - I need to recoat them.Leave a comment:

Yes guys I'm bumping a fossilized thread but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what sort of grease if any I should apply when installing the CABs. I heard that squeaking was an issue with these if they are not properly lubricated.Leave a comment:

Good explanation.
Regardless of the material being used, it appears to me that the AKG bearings are spherical type bearings and would allow rotational movement around the Z and X axes as shown in the above image. That's why I think the "feel" would be stiffer with the THR units. Linear axial movement might be stiffer in the AKG units due to the use of harder materials. This is speculation. I don't claim to have done any analysis deeper than that.
Maybe the bearing is simply for ease of installation and the suspension doesn't realistically flex in that way. Maybe the bearings aren't even spherical and I need glasses or a bigger picture to look at.

I honstly didn't notice any loss in comfort. The loss of my comfort is felt by my Konis and IE Stg 3s. All the THR bushings do is let you feel more road irregularities with your wheel - which honestly isn't that bad. But, with soft suspension, I don't think I'd even notice a change.huh, so it looks like I have a decision to make. I don't want to 'vert to be too stiff since it will be a dd (which is why I was planning on doing M3 offsets), but if the THRs are that much better as far as feel/control, and there is little, if any, loss of comfort, I may have to go with them.
I love being able to feel everything. Granted, it sucks going fast thru a really bumper turn...actually, it's impossible. But smooth roads are heavan! :DLeave a comment:

Another benefit to the treehouse units is ease of installation. Unlike any bushing that uses the stock lollipops, these don't require a press to install. Road feel is superb, and the benefits of m3 geometry are well documented. Due to the minimal flex, turn in is excellent.
Also, those spherical bearings would require periodic lubrication or inspection, and would be susceptible to damage from dirt and debris on a street car.

you do not NEED them for a swaped car, i use regular m3 bushings for my m50 swap and works fine. but with that said, i do plan on purchasing these down the line because i think they will help the little shimmy my car has at high speeds and should make the front end feel more solid.Leave a comment:
