it still sits the same 2 weeks later. i cant get it to scrape on anything. it doesnt even come close to the oil pan AT ALL. i live in a complex with some NASTY driveways and it wont drag anywhere. my suggestion is also while youre in there get yourself a kit for the control arms, CAB's, tie rods, sway bar links and of course new shock mounts front and rear. do it all while its out. youre not going to believe the difference it all makes when you do it all at once, its like a whole new car.
    you have bigger tires right?

      +1 to this...

Coilovers give you inifinte and corner-by-corner ride height adjustability, as well as additional wheel/tire room, the potential for shortened strut/shock bodies (which gives you more travel on a lowered car), and much more front strut/camber adjustability, if you have adjustable camber plates. "Lowering springs" are still gigantic things that eat up a lot of room inside the strut tower. But the cost for good monotube adjustable coilovers is a lot more than what the OP paid. :D

Don't listen to the books about the rear springs.

You just have to lower and unbolt the shocks and then pry it out carefully with a crowbar.

I'm going with the same set up on my 90 325is. Let me know how the installation goes. Please post tips, recommendations and pitfalls to avoid during the install. Also, does anybody know what the going rate is to have springs and shocks installed?

In the next 6 months or so I plan on getting rid of my H&R Race springs and going CO. I love my H&R Race springs. Drop is nearly perfect with an additional rear spring pad. I just wish that the front was slightly lower (maybe 1/2" or so). I may just pull out the front spring pads and see how it sits then.
