I just ordered the KYB/Vogtland combo a few days ago, it should be a good summer placeholder until I get full-blown into the suspension next winter.

I've had the KYBs on my DD with a very similar spring (Progress, 1.6" drop) and have been pretty happy with them. I do drive pretty aggressively and they've held up fine for almost 80k miles. It's definitely not the firmest ride, but good enough for me to buy a second set I guess...

I read on another thread that "Tokico is crap." No data or experience to back it up. Reminds me of the way a Lib debates politics. Tokico is a Hitachi company and I cant think of a bad product they have made. Anyway, The "good" Tokicos cost the same as Billies so, there's no point.

                FTcW? Sweet.

I have B+G springs. Way too much rake unless you have an assload of subwoofer. Soft, too, but I rarely drive hard.

Just buy Bilstein sports and be done. We're talking a few bucks if you do your homework and buy from KO on sale or Bavauto on a deal. They dont compare. I've ridden on every shock/strut mentioned in their thread. I'm slammed on GC's with Bilstein Sports and I have yet to experience the bump stop.

A small price difference? I think not. Mine were $140 for all 4...as good as billy sports? Fuck no, but at 1/3rd the price, they are adequate.

Might go with this for my Cabrio.

I don't plan on autox, just want better springs then stock and a little bit of drop.
