V DUbn. Why dont you just rotate the actual bearing 180o? That would leave the strut at 0o and allow you to use all 4 bolts.

Wow you guys are nuts to do that to your strut towers for the sake of more adjustment. Anyway, I have heard reports of play in the bearings on the GC plates on a friends car a long time ago. Guess it wasn't an isolated incident.

I see the problem on the popping thanks to Lee.. The brass bushing that came with the shocks( not the GC camber plates ) is not under the camber plate. It is under the shock nut on top of the strut. So I guess I'll remove shock top nut, slide out brass bushing and install on top of the shock nut to sit up against the camber plate. Does that sound right Lee?
            Thanks.

For those with seizing and popping of GC camber plates and haven't maintained the needle bearings...

                Problem solved. Cheaply and easily.

                    it's possible.

confirmed location of fuel leak - 20 year old fuel *whatusedtoberubber* lines pouring out gas at fittings between filter and line to front. if that's covered soon, and trailing arm thing... maybe

would rather save for DP though

Wow! I've had the bigger inner washer crack but not the needle bearings. GC is not too far away so replacement parts aren't hard to get :)

By the way, that picture is from a Ground Control Camber Caster plate for Koni struts, when it is used on a Bilstein. The parts are DIFFERENT. You can't do that, it will ruin parts. Its just like fitting a 325e head on a 325is motor. You can physically do it, but it was never intended to work that way.

Unless you sold Bilstein single adjustable strut inserts along with your Ground Control kit, those were from use with Koni struts...

Maybe this is GC's new customer approach of insulting customers and putting blame on them. Albeit unconventional, it is a more active strategy than putting on hold and forgetting to get back to them.

Hey, mellow out. That post is not an insult. Maybe I got two usernames confused.

I have several pictures in my inbox that are exactly from people buying used GC plates for Konis and putting them on Bilsteins, and they look exactly like that because the bearings get pinched.

I believe this is what is described in post #20.

If I got two people mixed up, then I apologize.

                                Jay,

What needs to be changed on the GC plate when one switches from Bilstein to Koni? Does it matter if it's koni SA or DA?

                                Thanks.
