    General Consensus on Suspension.

I am going to get myself some billies pretty soon and generally all the bushings necessary for replacement. The main question is does everyone recommend replacing old stock struts to the E46 struts? This is what i've vaguely heard.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no. You may be confused with the e36 5 lug conversion.

I know for sure this has nothing to do with the 5 lug conversion and I have heard about the E46 strut many times I just finally wanted some opinions on those who have them compared to oem.

Maybe e46 RSM's? I don't think I've heard anything 'bout what your talking about... Could you show me where you heard about e30's w/ e46 suspension components.

I believe he's talking about rear shock mounts. I had them done in my car, used new E46 Cabriolet parts as they are apparently the strongest.

You see, BMW's for the last little while here, have had the same type/style of Rear Shock Mount (RSM), The ones made for the e30 are lighter duty in comparo to the e46 units. Thus, when replacement/upgrade is made, use that unit.

oh ok obviously I was being a newb and didn't know what the RSM Abreviation was until now. I apologize.... So are E46 mounts much more expensive?
