Coil Binding - Please Help! FK Springs 60/40 Set Up

I have just recently installed Fk lowering springs with billy sports all around. It looks and drives great, but I heard this popping sound coming from my front suspension. So I had a look and it looks like the upper coils seem to be touching. I had my girlfriend turn the wheel from lock to lock and the coils (mostly from my driver's side) seem to catch for a sec., pop, and then they move freely.

This is getting rather annoying and I was wondering if there was an easy fix or what? Or is this a manfacture defect? I bought the springs used off a guy on here.

    Thanks,
    Mitch

sounds like the upper spring perch isn't spinning freely like it is supposed to.
There is a bearing in the top spring perch that should spin freely when the bottom strut body turns. Yours sounds like it is rotating the lower strut perch is moving but the upper isn't, which then twists at the spring itself.

Take it apart, buy new upper strut mounts, pack them with grease and reinstall. My guess is that will fix it.

don't freak out just yet. the upper coils are probably "dead coils", their only purpose is to keep the spring seated in the perch when the suspension droops. Dead coils will touch when the car is on the ground.

Most likely your problem is the upper spring perches as suggested.
