    Installing stock rear springs

    hey

I remember taking off the stock rear springs was easy - unbolt the sway bar, shock, stand on the hub, and you could pull it right off.

unfortunately Im having a tough time doing the reverse - any tips?

You need springs compressors. Anything shorter you can do it without.

A big pry bar and some balls. Get the spring set on the trailing arm and then get the top in as far as you can and then set the pry bar between the top of the spring and the upper spring perch. Push the pry bar toward the ground and at the same time push forward on the bar to slide the spring into place.

Its rather self explanitory with the pry bar.

      Good luck.

I don't see how you could use a spring compressor back there either. The compressor itself would get in the way. Haha what I have done before was set something really heavy on them like a big box or something and while they were compressed by the box I got a thick zip tie on each side and got them zipped as tight as possible and then did the same to the other spring. They were then small enough to set in between the frame and the trailing arm. I lowered the car down slowly and once they were positioned right I cut the zip ties off of the springs. Pretty eat and quick

there is like one way to use the two-piece spring compressor. I believe ive had to locate them roughly 33 degrees appart from each other... not entirely safe situation so wear eye protection!
You'll have to work one of the screws with a simple wrench too. Not to mention, working them pretty evenly.

it can be done, i've done it. go to autozone and rent a spring compressor, it comes with two spring compressors, so just use only one. Takes patience but you can do it

it's easy and it's safer than a pry bar, why risk anything popping out of place and nailing you in the face? I should be a lyricist

Just put the car on a jack stand and use a jack to raise up the trailing are or put a block under the TA and lower the car on it. It will compress the spring enough
