    Replacing power steering hoses?

Has anyone cut the crimp end of the factory hoses and used a new hose and clamp on the end?

Or is my only option to buy new factory hoses?

Nah, I'd like to keep it if I can.

Turns out I only need the supply and return line, NOT the pressure line.

I'm talking about this crimp clamp.

The cheap route is to remove this and attach a piece of the right size hose and use a regular hose clamp on the end.

Can you do me a favor? If you're replacing the hoses tomorrow, can you see if you can take off/cut off this crimp sleeve in any way? Thanks...

                110 Bar + hose clamps=fail...

OK for the supply and return lines, but if the pressure hose is leaking, replace it with the real thing.

Yea, I'm doing it on the return and supply lines NOT the pressure hose. For whatever reason the pressure hose is bone dry, but the other hoses are super leaky. Good for me.

Ok, so you didn't replace the hoses, just the clamps....ok.

yep just the clamps, my hoses were swollen and they will need replacing soon, but for now this will keep the oil slick off the bottom of my car
