I have Intrax springs with Bilstein sports, and the rest of the supsension is new. I track the car a couple times a year and I have good results with this set up. The nice thing about Intrax is it's not too low, I never bottom out or have any tire rub. This isn't the best set up but it works well, you can also try Eibach or H&R too with Bilstein sports and have similar results.

Do you know anything about autox?? There are like classes n stuff. Some allow parts and others don't. You should like run a bunch of events or something. And like, then decide for yourself whats right for you, n stuff. Your stock suspension with a slightly stiffer front bar and a good alignment with -camber in the front would work great. Your car handles fine to start with. It's just whether or not you feel like you should spend extra money for it to go a little faster.

Do you have stock boge struts? Those should always be the first thing to go.

Well I have h/r, bilsteins on my 318is but was thinking of trying something different on the cabrio.

check www.tunersport.com . They have a sport suspension(shocks and springs) 55mm/35mm(or 35/35) for under 500 and its cabrio specific

why don't you just autcross the 318 and cruise in the cabby? that would suit the cars roles a lot better, and your 318 setup is probably overkill for a beginner anyway.

Well when the stock shocks wear out, I want to upgrade to something sportier.

or maybe a cabrio specific one, I really fucked up on my suspension (although I am satisfied with it)

does not rub unless you're a fat-ass like me, in that case, it rubs on right turns.
