As far as the noise, that's not normal and isn't caused by the length of the spring. Do you have camber plates? Is the spring seated properly?

What strut inserts are you using? You don't need anything shorter then Bilstein Sport or Koni's.

Thats what everyone seems to say, but what happens if you go over ahump or the top of a hill and the weight of the car comesof fthe suspension, then your springs are free to ashift around? Doesnt sound right to me.
Are the HR struts shorter than stock, cause that would solve the free moving spring problem.

you would almost have to have your car airborne and the tires off the gound to have the springs move around. their is a groove that they sit in. jack up your car and see how far its gota be jacked up to be able to move that spring. thats how high youd hafta get your car to get the spring to be uncompressed. even if they are ever uncompressed something would hafta hit them and move them for that split second. people have been running shorter springs for a long time and theirs no write ups on here of anyone having to readjust their springs from going over a big bump. i did read that someone couldn't pass inspection because of it though. they drilled a hole in the top and the bottom of the strut next to the spring and put a hose clamp around the bottom and top of the spring to get it to not move and pass inspection. you could always do that.

Spece30 guys with this setup consistently lift wheels up in corners. They are cornering at 1+ g's and hitting bumps and generally just beating the shit out of the suspension. If the springs were able to come out, it would have happened to somebody by now.

Here's a test: Jack your car up until the wheel is off the ground. Grab the spring, and try to get it out. Not gonna happen. Try to get it in a position where when the weight of the car goes back on the wheel, it won't seat right. Not gonna happen. If you can get it in some awkward position, I bet when you lower the car down it will pop back into place anyway.
