    20/19 sways = oversteer?

Hi guys, I have a 318i M40 on H&R sport springs and black bilsteins.
I haven't done anything to my sways, so the front is the standard 18mm and nothing at the rear.

There is a local manufacturer here who makes sways for the E30, it used to be 23mm front and 19mm rear, but for some reason, they recently changed the front to a 20mm instead.

What I'm wondering is, would a 20/19 setup result in too much oversteer/tendency to snap under cornering?

Or would I be better off sticking to my 18 in front and looking for an OEM sway at the back? I can probably find a 12mm 325i rear, but the 14.5 is abit tough to find in my area.

Not really. I've got 21/19.5 with H&R race and Koni yellows. I can dial in the oversteer via throttle input, but other than that, it's not bad. I would definitely like to find a set of the IE 25/21 bars though.

Ah thanks, that's good to know. I was considering the H&R 22/18 set, but that will be about 3 times the price of the 20/19 that this local manufacturer here makes.

I'm hoping my springs are stiff enough to match the sways, but I'm wondering if these warrant any additional reinforcements to be welding on? e.g. the subframe tabs where the links mount etc.

you can always use M3 gussets to mount the front links to the strut tubes, this makes the swaybar effectively larger than attaching it to the control arms.

You mean mounting it similar to how the M3 has it done? I don't think I'll be able to find those mounting tabs here in my area unless I have some shop custom make it, at which point I'd rather stick with a ready made ARB set instead. :)

AKG sells the brackets; you just have to weld them on.

So does Ground Control. Theirs are a 3-sided box sorta thing that are much stronger than stock. Nice laser-cut, precision stamped, too.

I've seen those, but I should mention I'm in Malaysia, so international shipping + conversion rates = no go for me ordering from them. :(
