Wheels Too Wide: Can I make them less wide?

I am thinking there must be a wheel shop out there that will cut out the middle of a wheel and weld it back together?

My 215/40 Nexen N3000s run wide and are almost square shouldered on an 8" wide wheel.

Use spacers to get to ET 25, and slap 235/40/17s on them.

It is done all the time in the domestic world....

People also take out material to narrow stock wheels for drag use.

for reference, the tire was a 215/35 for a 17, the OP was talking about 215/40 on an 18

But i agree, just keep them, some 215s will be squarer than others
