Duplicolor High performance wheel paint? *nevermind*

Saw this at advance auto parts while buying some other paint.

Any experience with it? As much as I would like to paint my wheels gold with silver lip......
a dark silver overall just might be easier.

Gold = Censored or better yet you insert explicative here. Silver on a red car no other colors apply.

Greg, I dig. Or I did, obviously second guessing it, or why else would I be asking about these paints (which come in white, silver, and gunmetal/darker silver)

I think dark silver would be cool, as it might help to hide brake dust.

        ya know?

man I hate gold, on anything, not just wheels.

I think gold would look decent ONLY if there is a distinct separation between the lip and spokes on your wheels, which there isn't on the Cs. I'd spray them a single color. Gunmetal would look sweet.

Another board said it could withstand a beating and still look good. I am really curious if this wheel coat is any better than other choices.

              Whoa, comes in more colors.
              WP100 White
              WP101 Silver
              WP102 Graphite
              WP103 Clear
              WP104 Bronze
              WP105 Racing Satin Black

              But for taste, looks.....and ease....it will probably be WP102 - dark grey/silver

And Ken - My Cs are staying silver, I'm talking about my set of bent 'weaves that are solely for Auto-X, track, etc. I actually need to swap my spare rim for one of the four I was riding on so my spare is my sole good rim....and I have four bent rims.

not like it matters for auto-x, bent ass wheels......
but a solid color instead of curbage and missing/faded stock silver paint......would be better

Drivng with bent wheels for high performance driving seems like one of the least safest things you can do. :?

                    you would, or wouldn't?

my uncle told me bent wheels wouldn't make a big difference at the track. on the street, they might not feel great, but out there, you won't notice really. and I put up with them for several months on the street and didn't really notice them, besides a little extra rough ride.

they all hold air fine. just suck if you are the picky about the ride.......
some are visibly out of round, i mean just enough......but I need to bring them to a shop to make sure which one of two is good.

Ya, exactly what I want to do.

Drive fatigued, bent, old wheels under high-stress situations with prolonged forces and greater than average impacts.

Bent wheels are good for 'rollin on the street looking TUFF' or storing the car over the winter.
They have no real place on a race-track.

You're a BMW literature whore... go look back through Roundel. 1-2 months ago was an excellent article on how most people fail to ever inspect their wheels, or replace them on the grounds of how long they've had them and been using them on-track.\

If its visibly out of round, there is even less place for it on track.
I'm reading a great book right now about driving/racing. Driver comfort is key #1 to success... not HP/suspension/brakes. Go try and toss the car around corners at high G's and long straights while battling out of round wheels.... you're hpde's will be worthless as you wont be getting the real feeling of the car.

wheels are cheap. replace the bent ones.
                        Below the radar...

I wouldn't use duplicolor on anything other than winter wheels.. which coincidentally, is exactly what I'm using to paint my bottlecaps.

alright, alright. I just was listening to people whose advice I respect and tell me that they wouldn't make a big difference. And rocking baskets with $42 tire a pop would be cheaper than using and replacing my ES100s.

But on that note, I guess this thread should be accomplained by a WTB: Baskets. But not until later, I got other shit to take care of.

wheels are cheap. replace the bent ones.
Chris, give me your baskets, with the ES100s on them. Perfect.

If the costs to replace and shod with tire is going to be much.....it would just be easier running my borbets + es100s.

so these damn bent wheels will be winter-only then, and either use the tires on the Cs now, or get some baskets or bottlecaps on put cheap 14" rubber on 'em.

                              1. Run ES100's on the auto-x/track/street until they are dead
                              2. Buy 205/50/15 Azenis Sports and continue with pattern stated in #1
                              Repeat #2 as treadwear dictates.
