General Exlaim UHP's, who's got them?

Looking for 205/45's for my 16x9 Type T's I just ordered. Ran across these on TireRack, seems like they have decent reviews, better then the Dunlop's and BFG's. Never had any experience with them, anyone stretch these? I know Continental owns them now, seen a few comments on here about them, might try them out.

    Anyone?

    Sold.......again.

extremely soft sidewalls. it's basically an average summer tire tread/compound mounted on a floppy four-season carcass.

hmmm, care to elaborate more? I've never heard of someone complaining of soft sidewalls. Don't plan on driving the car in the snow either, so not worried about winter performance.

      Sold.......again.

soft side walls create sloppy slow response in the twisties. i dunno what you are after, but if you want performance these arent the deal.

these are a good confortable touring tire.

well there going to be stretched, to there's not much performance I can get out of them. We'll see, just wanted to see what everyone's opinion on them was.

          Sold.......again.

You can get a bunch of performance from stretched tires.

They're extremely imprecise, as others have said. Any BFG will feel 10x better. If you want something cheaper, the Falken 912 is a much better tire.

Really? I was always scared of rolling the bead off the tire when cornering hard. Where's a good place to buy tires besides TireRack? I didn't see any Falken's on there.

I don't want a high priced tire because there going to get chewed up with the camber, eventually I plan to correct it, but for the time being, it's off. They had Dunlop Direzza's that are priced pretty good too, any imput on those?

              Sold.......again.

I don't know how many of you have actually HAD these tires, but I have had both 912's and Exclaims.

I loved those exclaims. Very quiet, great in the rain, very predictable...and have no fucking clue how anyone could say they have a softer sidewall than the BFG.

My only bitch was tire wear. "cambered" them out in 8500 miles.

I have the exclaims right now and havent experienced a crazy amount of mushy sidewall. Ive also had falkens and BFG's and would put these tires in the same category. decent tire for the money. not amazing, but i wasnt trying to buy a race tire. i drive this car on the street.

I'm on my second set of Exlaim's in 205/45/16 on a 16x7. Yeah, they aren't as precise as my V710 and z214 road racing tires, but they aren't as soft as generic 195/65/14 stockers either. They have just as much lateral grip to offer as most other high performance tires (I've had Supra 712's, HTRZ-II's, G-Force Sports, etc...). Only difference I noticed with these that kept me coming back is the excellent wear and amazing hydroplane resistance. I would highly recommend them for a street car.
