If I were to get SSR comps...

17x8 or 9, I wouldn't go staggered. Granted the power you'll be putting down, that wheel with a sticky 235 or 245 will be nice setup. Alex ran his 250whp 3.2 with 17x8 Comps and 235/40 Pilot's, the car felt really good, even with mild suspension work. (til i flat spotted those tires, whoops)

for Show or Go?
No offense, but I don't see why if you(from picture)auto-x, why you would want to go to a 17" wheel? Those are too tall and you'll get better results from those lightweight wheels on the track in 16 or 15. But if you're going for show, then certainly get them in 17". Staggered, why not if you can afford to not rotate your tires. If you have less than a 325i, it would hurt take-off more, but if you can power them, then go for it! If you can fit them, it'll look much more aggressive and handle better once you dial in your suspension. Myself, I'd only go 8s all around. As for the suggestion from the one with the picture of Alpina copies, I would've expected you to like the staggered Alpinas look on the E30. The 16x7 and 16x8 (ET 28)was their trademark for looks and performance.( And Hartge was a 16x7.5 and 16x8.5). But to each their own, preference. Not baggin' on anyone. Just somethings to consider.Comment

The staggered wheels hurts performance. And he's got just a standard 325i  yea right.Comment

Re: for Show or Go?
The wheel/tire choice needs to satisfy a very heavy-breathing, supercharged S50...in a 2700 pound car. Bryson:
Get the largest wheel width for the tire you want to run. A larger wheel will support more of the tire, be more responsive, and offer more predictability. All that said . . . . you should keep those double spoke IIs on the car. Those wheels, with bronzit, look mean. :twisted:San Diego BMW repair -> Jake @ www.littlecarshop.com Great guy :up:Comment

The wheels I've got on there now are 17x7.5 and 17x8.5 but they're heavy, maybe I'll just stick with em anyway
And for the person suggesting 15 or 16s.. I'm not sure if I can wrap 15s around my brakes..
and I can't buy the typical wheels you're thinking of, because I have 5 lug and use e36 offsets

I've always loved silver Comps, 17x9 all around would be sick... even better for trying to break loose that automatic :)Comment
