Can you guys runnin 16x9 rear rims let me know what final offset you have? I'm assuming ET12-15 would work....any help would be appreciated.

Whats-his-name.....Alex.....he has had a set of some 16x9s listed for sale. I believe the offset on those wheels is ET15. Doublecheck the classifieds.

    Jon

    Edit: they are ET15 offset.

With or without spacers? I would have thought 16x9 ET15 would come very close to the struts up front. My 16x7 ET28 wheels have about half an inch of clearance to the strut up front. 16x9 ET15 wheels would be half an inch further inboard by my calcs. So they'd be close :D

The thread is talking exclusively about the rear, 9" rims in the front need around 5-10mm more room.

et5 front and et0 rear, I didn't have to run spacers out back with et15 but the fronts hit the strut housing.

I needed spacers in the front I think 5mm. On my old conv. I put a very small dent in the front strut housing, and didnt need a spacer.

Thanks for the replies fellas........i'm ok in the front since they are only 16x8 ET20. The concern was the 16x9 ET20 rear....I suppose I'll go with a 5-7mm spacer then.

How bout rear tire size on that 16x9? Will 245's fit? Must be hard to find 245/16's? Obviously the fenders will be rolled and I'm trying to find some fibreglass or plastic flares......Zender use to sell them for the E30 but NLA......do you guys know of any others, besides BMPD & Ireland Eng?

Well, a few guys are running 245/45/16, that was a Porsche OE size so there's still good choices in it. But most of them (Ryan Stewart for example) have the older arches. It's going to be damn near impossible to fit a 9" wide rim with real tires without big flares or cutting.

haha, you'd be very surprised then to know that I have 3/4-1" clearance on the inside and 1/2" on the outside of my 17x8.5s, even with my (now gone) oversized 245/40/17 tires. I rolled the fenders just a little bit with a metal rod and eventually a ~5lb sledge

Dont run Spacers for the rear. It will fit just fine. There is plenty of room on the shock side for the rear, and your fenders will be better off.

Also, IE products are generally not made to "look nice" but to be functional. Keep that in mind if ordering fender flares. They don't come as a perfect fit either, you have to trim them to your liking.
