stupid questions about offset and centerbore

Offset is measured in cm's right? And the centerbore of our e30's in 57.1, measured in mm's right? Thanks.

    .

Japanese and European offests are usually in millimeters. ex: 25mm.

all offset is measured in mm.

backspacing...which is slightly different than offset is measured in inches

The centrebore of the E30 is 57mm, a wheel going on the E30 is 57.1mm

Back from the dead. I just bought new wheels and me nor the PO know the centerbore. These were on a V-dub, I believe so hopefully I am not completely fucked. Didn't think of centerbore until now when I was washing them.

How do you measure centerbore by yourself w/ no machine or box? I'm a picture learner so if you don't mind putting pics up that would be great.

i know a couple vdubs have the same centerbore -- 57.1mm as our e30s...

could you just use like a caliper or ruler to find the width of the hole?

The one in the center, in the middle of the four smaller holes you put your nuts in.

                  That sounded weird.

haha, okay where if I had a single lug nut in the middle I would put it in this hole. I think we are on the same page. Thanks

Just eyeing it on the outside of the wheel w/ a ruler it looks like its 57mm but on the insideof the wheel w/ a ruler widest daimeter hole is almost 70mm

Hopefully you can see it. The red arrow is the hole that is measuring 57mm. I don't have kopis these are just for an example. The the hole, if you turn the wheel over on the back is about 70mm.

That's the one. Measure it at its narrowest diameter. It should be 57.1mm.

Okay cool. I can't get the ruler down into it but from eye balling it, it is very close to 57mm.

Sorry, but is there a tool that is small enought to get into that hole and get an exact reading? I can't get the ruler down there and when I read it, it is about 2" away from the hole. Are there any sizes that are close that it could be with an accurate measurement?
