    16x9 wheels question

I know you are sick of hearing, "will the wheels fit?" but I don't wanna search through meaningless, pointless threads, so help me out. :)

    - 16x9 wheels (front & back)
    - ET15 offset
    - 10mm spacers all around
    - 215/45/16s all around

It'd be nice to run 225s, but I dont want to have problems with rubbing. (My car is a 318iS on Bilstein Sports & H&R Sports).

Someone has a Red Cab on 16x9 CR-7s, and looks like you are running 215s? What size spacers were required, and what (if any) fender mods were needed?

    TIA

spacers? how far out do you want them to sit?

my 17x8 et12s with 215s caught the rear fenders pretty bad.

you gonna need to massage the fenders to get em to fit cleanly.

ideally, i don't want to use any spacers, but I'm pretty sure the front will touch the struts. So if 5mm would clear it, that'd be better. The rear shouldn't be a problem? But if I'm running spacers up front, I kinda have to in the back too.

As for tires, ideally, I want to run 225s, but that could be a lot of fender work...

The only 215/45/16 tire in the NA market right now is the Michelin Pilot Sport. Keep that in mind.

I'm most likely getting them from Tunershop and they told me that Toyo T1S, Dunlop SP9000, Yokohama AVS Sport are available in 215/45 and 225/45 . . but I guess they ship straight from Germany.

Tires do wear out. That might be a pain and would get pretty expensive having to have all your tires shipped overseas.

you are absolutely right. Another reason I should run 225/45s.

There are 2 tires I could get locally in 215s, Falken Azenis and Michelin Pilot Sports. But 225s have a way better selection.

The thing is, I dont wanna get 225s then end up having to pull my fenders to fit.

                1. You will have to have your fenders rolled with any tire on a 9" rim
                2. The Azenis Sport is being phased out by the RT-615, and that size will be NLA.

                  1. Oh okay. Well then 225s sound like the only way to go.

                  2. I have heard otherwise, but you are probably right about this. But rolling and pulling is a little different. Pretty much, what I need to know is, what the minimum width spacers I can use, and if it would work with 225/45s without mods or just rolling the fender.

Am I mistaken or are you really going to put a 215 on a 9" wheel? Hell, even a 225?

                    I guess that is euro.

It took me about 32 seconds of searching, you will need 5mm spacers up front, and you will only need to roll them well.

                        with 225s?

Im gonna try searching again, but people seem to say different things, so Im never sure. Maybe I'll just have to try it.

If it makes you feel better, look at Qimis' car. He's running 9.5" and 10.5" I believe, with 215's and 225's. He only rolled (himself to boot).

You can't run anything larger than 225's almost in our cars without major rubbing.

                            definetly the euro look.

Are you sure about that? I know of at least two cars running 235s and 245s.
