    Should I do it?

Finally ready to buy a set of wheels.

Found a smoking deal on some 17x7.5" SSR Type C RS, Antrhacite, only 14.5lbs. As light as most of the 15x7 or 15x8" wheels I've been looking at.

And of course much, much better tire selection. And perfect for a 215/40/17, which is stock OD.

I want a lightweight wheel, with BBK clearance, and I just love the look of an E30 slammed on 17s.

I think I just talked myself into it.

Do it, but get some real tires. 235/40r17.

I think I'm going to. That color on Sterling should look pretty good.

235/40 is way too much tire for an M42. But at least it gives me the option to do it later on.

The red car in the pic is on 235/40 RT-615 according to the old for sale ad.

Well, went ahead and ordered them. Figured for $840 shipped that was too good to pass up. Here in another 6-8 weeks I'll order some tires for them.

If anyone else is interested. They are 4 lug Miata fitment, so look up a '97 Miata on TireRack. You'll have to run spacers, but big deal. You're getting SSR's at 50% off.

Hell yes. SSR Comps were the wheel that got me "into" wheels way back in the day.

Nah, look like poo. 17's are too big. Spacers FTL. Plus you paid a good chunk of change for a set of wheels on the basis that they were "on sale". For that you could have gotten something really worthwhile.

I hope you like the wheels. It's your car so run what you like.

I keep forgetting baggypants think $200 a wheel is expensive.

What is a really "worthwhile" wheel at $200 a pop?

Nice buy, I was looking at those also. FWIW, when I contacted Rudy at TR on Jan 25th they had 12 of the anthracite and 8 black left, so the sale is almost over. Did you think about getting a spare or 2? That's the only thing that I'm unhappy about with my Kazeras, if I screw one up I'm a bit hosed.

I think they're gonna look great, but as long as you're happy who cares? Philo sounds like a jealous 13 year old. Drama FTL.

Shit, that's not a bad idea.

May give them a call back tomorrow and get another.
