BBS RS Build - Teaser pics

Started off with a set of high offset BBS RS 5x130 16" wheels with .5" & 1" lips, blasted the barrells and faces and had them powdercoated with brilliant silver with a coat of clear on the second bake.

I just recieved the faces and barrels back and I am almost complete building up my RS's...

      Wowww.
This is what I plan on doing eventually.
What's the final offset with & without adapters?
What tires do you plan on stretching over these? Unless you plan on running some real tires and using flares.

Fronts are -20 before adapters and 0 with 20mm FK adapters
Rears are -7 before adapters and +18 with 25mm H&R adapters

might swap the adapters front to rear to help readuce some of the rear poke...

tires will be 215/40 fronts and 245/35 rears..

alot of fender massaging will be happening, no flares.

looks like FK makes a set of 15mm adapters now..

might run those in the rear if the current adapters don't work..

I think its another way around. If the original offset is -20.. You used 20mm spacer up front. It will be -40 offset, not zero. Rear will be -22. Shaving mounting pad or narrower barrels is one of the way to increased the offset (+). Unless original offset is 0, then you use 20mm spacer then -20.

sorry i mixed up my positive and negatives, thanks for pointing that out...

                  corrected version:

Fronts are +20 before adapters and 0 with 20mm FK adapters
Rears are +7 before adapters and -18 with 25mm H&R adapters

or if i swap the adapters:

Fronts are +20 before adapters and -5 with 25mm H&R adapters
Rears are +7 before adapters and -13 with 20mm FK adapters

acutally totally messed that up my wheels started off with et49 not et57 as i thought, these will be my offsets:

Fronts are +12 before adapters and -8 with 20mm FK adapters
Rears are -1 before adapters and -26 with 25mm H&R adapters

or if i swap the adapters:

Fronts are +12 before adapters and -13 with 25mm H&R adapters

fronts on this car are 16x9.5 with et0

mine will sit identical to that if i go with the 25mm H&R in the front

or will sit in 5mm if i go with the FK 20mm in the front

Good luck fitting those rears, that offset should stick out like 2 inches.

Yeah, you need to do some measurements. . . . .

                            update:

purchased a set of 15mm adapters front and rear and looks like my final offsets are now:

                            fronts - 16x8.5 et16 w/ 205/45/16 KDW2
                            rears - 16x10 et10 w/ 225/45/16 KDW2

hopefully should have the tires in a week and some pics posted of the wheels mounted in 2 weeks...

I did a test fit with the new adapters and rears are about an inch outside of the rear fender, so by the time the tire is stretched and slight pull to the fender it shouldn't have any problems clearing, fronts are only about a 1/4" outside of the fender and again with the mild stretch and fender rolling should be in good shape.

You probably got the worst tires possible for stretching.
For a square setup, those KDW2's would be perfect.
But for yours, good luck getting them on with their stiff sidewall.
