KOPI's on the way, two much - camber????

i've got the kopi (alpina look-likes) coming today in 17*7.5...

going to order some springs, shocks/struts, m3 still cambered bushing, and strut mounts.

here's my question. should i get the fixed offset front strut mount (more negative camber)? is this too much negative camber with this setup? it's a daily driver...

like always, thanks in advance to all that reply. i'm trying my best to give back to the boards as much as i get from them... :)

We'll need to know which springs you are getting and how much of a drop they'll give you before we can start to talk about camber.

Yeah, change in wheels /= change in camber.

you definately dont need to worry about camber, you'll be fine, shit if you want you could stand to have one more degree negative judging by those drop #'s

thanks for that reply. i like your wheels.. :)

so m3 bushings and a fixed neg cambered strut mount shouldnt be too much correct?

M3 bushings don't change the camber. 1.8" drop doesn't give you much negative camber so you will be fine.

                thanks for the info...

i spoke to eibach tech support about their kits.. here's what i found out:

no sportlines only pro-kit for mine
                progressive not linear for pro-kits
they said 1.6 drop for front and 1.0 for rear on my 318is
also 10 to 20% stiffer than a stock ride..

i told him i always heard eibachs are super low compared to the h&r's. he said that eibachs are softer than the h&r's... weird, (he actually spoke well of h&r's) i assumed that the super duper major eibach drop people talked about had a stiffer ride...and 1.6 doesnt seem to much to me....

also, i got some konis coming with stock style front strut/mounts and bearings, m3 caster bushings, and e46 rear mounts. i'm thinking i can soften the ride for the 215*40's using the koni's.

Everything he said is true. I'll try to explain the stiffness.

The Eibach Pro-Kit is a progressive spring, meaning the rate increases the more it is compressed. This lends a much more tolerable ride, as small imperfections don't toss you side to side. It can also help keep the car off the bump stops, as the rate gets very high near the end to prevent it.

The H&R Sports are linear. They have the same rate throughout the range, which has tradeoffs. The ride is more jittery, but it lends the benefit of making the car more predictable during hard driving. If you drove a car with linear springs back to back with a car with progressive springs you'd see the difference.

The Eibachs lower the car noticeable more than H&R's, possiblity due to the soft initial rates. To me they also provide a more pleasing stance, but that's preference.
